Polycarbonate – Acrylic
High-performance materials with excellent impact resistance
When transparency is a functional as well as an aesthetic requirement, Polycarbonate (PC) and Acrylic (PMMA) represent ideal solutions for replacing glass with lighter, stronger, and easily machinable materials.
Tecno Plastic works with both materials in various formats and thicknesses, custom-machined for applications where visibility, protection, thermal resistance, and visual impact must be combined.
Materials we machine
Polycarbonate (PC)
Polycarbonate is a virtually unbreakable thermoplastic material with excellent impact resistance and high-temperature performance.
Its optical transparency remains stable up to 140°C, making it suitable for outdoor use and environments subject to high thermal stress.
It is naturally colorless but can be supplied in various colors upon request.
Advantages
High impact resistance, thermal stability, excellent transparency, and good machinability.
Application fields
Railway and transportation, architecture, aerospace, medical, and food industries.
Methacrylate (PMMA)
PMMA is the plastic material with the highest level of transparency—up to 95%, surpassing glass.
It features an extremely glossy surface and offers excellent resistance to weathering and UV radiation.
It is ideal for aesthetic, protective, and structural applications where lightness, rigidity, and ease of machining are required.
Advantages
Maximum transparency, excellent UV stability, high machinability, and lower weight compared to glass.
Application fields
Industrial automation, architecture, chemical, medical, and pharmaceutical industries.
